The SPAW is anchored by its 6 by 12 feet by 4 feet deep, stainless steel, salt water therapy pool. It has swim jets powered by 2, 4 horse power pumps. They create various degrees of current for the patients to swim against.

It is powered by a highly specialized dehumidification system which keeps the room low in humidity while heating the pool. We were proud to be the first veterinary hospital in Canada with hydro-treadmill and pool and this is the first of this design anywhere in the world.

It has both sand and cartridge filters and is a salt water pool, which means that no chemical disinfectants need to be added that might lead to skin and eye irritation. Yet it will be as sanitary as any chlorine or bromine pool.

Our hydro treadmill is on a powered lift that can raise and lower from the edge of the pool down to 3 feet of water depth. This allows working the smallest poodle or the largest wolfhound.
